Del City council ratifies ladder repairs and approves consent docket items

By unanimous vote the council approved the consent docket, which included minutes of the March 2, 2026 meeting, a fiscal‑year 2025–26 budget amendment (exhibit in the agenda) and assessed abatement costs totaling $7,701.32 under the city code. Councilwoman Finch moved the consent approval and it was seconded and carried with recorded 'Aye' votes from Finch, Tatum, Brown and the mayor.
The council then considered repairs to its fire fleet. Members authorized payment of $158,777 to Industrial Truck Equipment to repair Ladder 1, a cost the staff said will be funded through insurance proceeds from a prior rear‑end collision. Councilwoman Finch moved the measure; it passed unanimously with the mayor and both council members voting aye.
Separately, the council ratified an emergency expenditure not to exceed $13,659.54 to Cummins Southern Plains LLC for repairs to a 2013 Ferrera aerial apparatus (Ladder 2) and authorized the city manager to sign required documents. That motion also passed unanimously.
City staff framed these items as operational necessities to keep emergency equipment in service. No council member opposed any of the measures and formal vote tallies were recorded as unanimous for each item.
