At the start of its Oct. 21 meeting the Campbell City Council recognized the city’s 2025–26 Youth Commission. Recreation staff introduced Alex McCreary as the staff liaison and Sophie Tuan as the commission chair. Tuan said the commission includes 14 members (grades 8–12), six returning commissioners and eight new commissioners.
The commission outlined three working groups: (1) teen wellness, fitness and recreation — plans include a fitness station at the city open house; (2) teen life skills, civic engagement and career building — plans include cooking stations and social‑media outreach on life skills and money management; and (3) teen community and leadership — plans include a youth‑led history site for Campbell’s civic improvement event on Feb. 14. Commissioners said they will report back to the council midyear and at the end of the term.
Councilors praised the commission and encouraged staff and commissioners to identify opportunities to collaborate on city events. There was no public comment on this item and no council objection to the commission’s work plan.
