Agency official described proceeds from the sale of two older UTVs were deposited into the county's OHV account and proposed purchasing a new enclosed Can-Am Defender with a track-transfer kit to restore the fleet. The quoted purchase price was $37,540. Commissioner moved to approve the $37,540 purchase and the board voted to authorize the expenditure from the OHV fund.
Separately, the Valley County Sheriff Foundation offered $30,000 to upgrade officer vests to level 3A. Commissioner moved that the board accept the donation; the motion passed. Board members and staff said they would send a thank-you note and sign acknowledgment paperwork. The board discussed that the donation carried no operational strings.
Staff then presented an agreement between the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) and Valley County to support enforcement, equipment and education for OHV activity; the agreement includes $8,482.14 to offset some county costs. The board moved to approve the agreement and voted to authorize the chairman to sign.
Agency staff also reported that a county jail inspection passed with no required corrections.
The board recorded these approvals as part of routine county operations; all motions were moved, seconded and approved by the commissioners present.
