The Properties & Facilities Committee voted to authorize the superintendent to negotiate a contract with CHA to continue as the district’s engineer of record and to present the negotiated contract to the full board.
The superintendent explained the RFP process: 11 proposals were received, the top firms were interviewed and the administration recommended continuing with the firm (formerly Dewey, now CHA). Committee member motioned, the motion was seconded and the committee approved the negotiation authorization by voice vote.
Josh (speaker 8), representing CHA, thanked the board and highlighted improved structure and communication between the district and CHA during the engagement. “I think there’s a very good structure in place now with improved communication, with improved direction,” he said. CHA staff also told the committee they will provide requested data and return quickly with additional information when asked.
Next steps: the superintendent will negotiate contract terms with CHA and bring a proposed contract to the full board for approval.
