Treasury department offices are being readied for occupancy by May 1. Wesley reported maintenance is fully staffed and described efforts to reduce costs by consolidating elevator-service contracts; he estimated potential annual savings of roughly $5,500–$7,000 depending on contract terms.
Kurt Remley of BCA Architects said staff are working to get the window manufacturer/installer back on site to resolve outstanding windows; scheduling delays pushed the next site visit about two weeks out.
Don presented two paving projects. For the EMA building parking expansion south of the ZMA building, Don said a two-lift hot-mix asphalt design (2.5 inches binder, 1.5 inches surface) with a 4-inch overall thickness yields an updated contractor estimate near $49,000. He said the highway department will shape and roll the gravel entrance before the contractor arrives; the county intends to advertise the work on Quest with an April 15 letting and would award to the lowest responsive bidder pending committee concurrence.
For the Coroner's (Corners) building lot, Don reported core sampling showed the existing asphalt base was degraded and requires full-depth replacement. Initial estimates rose from about $84,000 to roughly $88,000 for contracted 4-inch resurfacing; the highway department will handle sidewalk and curb-and-gutter work, and the City of Oglesby has agreed to pay the portion of curbing that lies on city property, to be invoiced separately.
Committee members asked procedural questions about permitting (project replacements may not require a permit) and about timing for the generator update; Don reported no new information on the generator at the meeting. The committee directed staff to proceed with the advertised letting for the EMA project and to return recommended awards to the property committee for concurrence before contracts are executed.
