Wichita named an All-America City finalist; oral competition set for June in Denver

The Mayor announced that Wichita is one of 20 finalists for the All-America City award and thanked staff and citizens for their work on the application.
"So, we are grateful, to the entire staff as well as the citizens of, the community of Wichita who have helped make, Wichita a finalist in the All America City competition," the Mayor said, and added that the next phase is an oral competition in Denver in June.
The Mayor listed several other finalist communities and said ten of the 20 finalists will be selected as winners. The city will prepare for the oral competition slated for June and staff and council members will participate in that next phase of the contest.
Council members offered congratulations and exchanged holiday well-wishes before the meeting moved on to other items.
