Finance Director Jody Stewart presented the Audit Committee report and said the results reflect coordinated work by department heads and staff adherence to budget and accounting policies. The Comptroller’s formal language in the minutes notes “Our report on Robertson County’s financial statements is unmodified. Our audit resulted in no findings.” The Audit Committee’s summary and the county transmittal letter were included in the meeting materials on file with the clerk’s office.
Why it matters: a clean audit and an unmodified opinion indicate that the county’s financial statements were presented fairly in all material respects and that the auditors identified no internal control deficiencies rising to the level of reportable findings for the fiscal year.
