The Leitchfield City Council accepted the annual audit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, after a presentation by Jeff Carter of Taylor Polson & Company.
Carter told the council the audit included governmental activities, discretely presented component units and major funds for the city and that, in his firm's opinion, the financial statements “present fairly in all material respects.” He walked the council through key figures: total assets increased from roughly $33.0 million to $35.3 million, capital assets rose from about $17.3 million to about $20.0 million, and the city reported a positive change in net position of $2,084,000. Carter said there were no internal control deficiencies or instances of noncompliance reported in the audit of federal programs.
Council members moved and seconded acceptance of the audit and voted to approve it on the record.
The report also included fund‑basis reconciliations, debt schedules and a breakdown of federal grant spending (about $1.6 million reported). Carter noted two routine state‑required pension adjustments and said there were no disagreements with management.
