The City of Findlay Planning Commission voted to recommend that City Council approve a rezoning of Lot 6 in East Melrose Business Park from C-2 General Commercial to I-1 Light Industrial, a staff member (Jake, S5) said.
Jake described application ZA-0.26 from Service Leaders LLC, which intends to build a storage/contractor building to support a snow‑removal business that already occupies an adjacent parcel. He said the lot abuts I-1 zoning to the north and that staff considered the requested rezone consistent with surrounding industrial uses. “Given the industrial zoning abutting to the north, staff was comfortable with recommending approval,” S5 said.
Commissioners noted the owner already operates on the adjacent parcel in Marion Township and observed that jurisdictional lines prevent merging parcels across municipal boundaries. Members said they saw no traffic or neighborhood issues with the proposed light‑industrial use.
The commission voted to recommend approval to City Council; the recommendation will be transmitted to the council for its legislative consideration.
