County staff asked the Finance and Infrastructure Committee to accept and appropriate $15,252 in net proceeds from the disposition of two transit vans to the Senior Transportation Program in the FY2026 Kent County Community Action (KCCA) Fund.
Staff said the Michigan Department of Transportation Office of Passenger Transportation authorized local disposal and release of liens. The transcript records sale prices of $9,007.07 and $6,004.50 and an expense of $975 for decal removal, which staff said resulted in net sale proceeds of $15,252. Staff emphasized that, consistent with federal and state requirements, sale proceeds will be used solely to support transit operations and will be appropriated to the senior transportation program.
Commissioner Halstead moved the motion and Commissioner Coleman supported it. There were no substantive questions beyond a brief clarification about the disposal process and the motion passed by voice vote.
The committee recorded the vote by voice; no roll‑call tally was given.
