Summary
The Tourism Development Council appointed Christine Selby Reagan to the marketing committee, and staff previewed a Space Coast wordmark and a new TV spot aimed at cruise and launch visitors ahead of the summer campaign.
The Brevard County Tourism Development Council added a new member to its marketing committee and heard a preview of refreshed Space Coast branding at its March 25 meeting.
Council members voted to appoint Christine Selby Reagan (Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex) to the marketing committee after a short nomination and roll‑call vote. Chair acknowledged the appointment and welcomed her to the committee.
In the marketing committee update, staff said it has been coordinating with the Cocoa Beach Hotel Association and the Space Coast Chamber on a unified wordmark approach that allows municipality‑level variants (for Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, Palm Bay and Titusville) while keeping the 'Space Coast' umbrella brand. Staff described the mark as a wordmark that incorporates a rocket motif to tie county messaging to rocket‑launch tourism. The TDO also has been developing a TV ad for Cocoa Beach and port pre/post‑cruise messaging, which staff said will be included in the spring campaign and will be posted on the county's channels when available.
Board members praised the cross‑organization collaboration and said the refreshed branding should help clarify the county’s geography to outside visitors. The marketing committee is continuing work on a full marketing plan with subsequent committee meetings scheduled for late spring and summer; staff said recommended media buys will be presented to the TDC for review and to the board for final approval in late summer.
The appointment and portfolio updates came immediately after the council approved a separate package of revisions to the Marketing Support Program criteria and application (see separate item).
