The St. Cloud Public School District board voted unanimously to approve the district’s 2026–29 Achievement & Integration Plan, Equity Services Director Ayan Omar told the board. "I respectfully request the board's approval of the February proposed 26–29 achievement integration plan, goals, and strategies," Omar said, noting the plan was developed with input from district leadership, a multi‑district collaboration council and the Native American Parent Advisory Committee.
The plan sets targets to increase graduation rates, improve third‑grade MCA reading outcomes, expand student participation in dual enrollment and raise teacher diversity. Key strategies include a districtwide language access plan, culturally responsive professional development for staff, and strengthened family engagement via outreach coordinators and bilingual communication support specialists.
Omar said approval is needed so the district can formally submit the plan to the Minnesota Department of Education by March 15. Board member Natalie made the motion to approve; Diana seconded. Heather called the roll and the motion carried with unanimous "yes" votes from the members recorded on the transcript.
The vote was procedural and forward‑looking: approval allows formal submission to MDE and authorizes district staff to implement the strategies outlined in the plan. The board did not attach conditions or amendments during the meeting.
