Council approves minutes and bills, votes to enter closed session
Summary
At the March 4 meeting the council approved the Feb. 18 meeting minutes, approved signing bills after adjournment, and voted to move into a closed session for litigation and personnel matters; roll-call was taken for the closed-session motion.
The Manti City Council recorded three formal actions during its March 4 meeting:
- Approval of minutes: Chair called for corrections to the Feb. 18, 2026 minutes and a motion to approve was made and seconded. The meeting record notes, "Motion made by Jen Christiansen and seconded by Brian Francois," and the motion passed by voice vote.
- Payment approval and signing: The council considered the payment-approval report included in the agenda. Mary Pipes moved that council approve and sign the bills following adjournment; AJ Mauer seconded the motion. The motion carried by voice vote.
- Motion to enter closed session: Chair requested a motion to move into closed session to discuss litigation and personnel. AJ Hauer moved to move into closed session and the motion was seconded by Jen Krisjansson. A roll-call vote was conducted and the motion passed; council then recessed into closed session.
The council did not take final action on ordinances at the public meeting; several items (short-term rentals, cemetery ordinance, ADUs) were scheduled for public hearings on April 1.
