Chase County signs 60‑day termination notice for GWorks contract; reviews insurance options and approves claims, Title VI program

Assessor Mueller presented a termination letter for the county's one‑year contract with GWorks during the March 10 Chase County Commissioners meeting. Judd Allen of NACO Benefit Services then presented options aimed at lowering county health insurance premiums. Allen outlined that many pool members are Medicare eligible and described a County "buy‑down" option in which the County would pledge funds to cover employees' remaining deductible amounts while premiums for the County would be lowered; higher deductible plans and HSA options were discussed. The Board said it would examine those options further before the annual Blue Cross Blue Shield renewal in May.
The Board reviewed monthly revenue and fund balance reports from the Treasurer and the Clerk's monthly revenue report and approved claims as submitted. The transcript lists detailed claim lines and fund totals; the Grand Total of all claims recorded in the meeting was $179,766.56, with a General Fund total of $123,100.95 and Road Fund total of $48,237.12.
Commissioner Bernhardt moved to approve the Federal Transit Administration Title VI Program for Chase County Transit 2026; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The Board also accepted the resignation of Sam McNair from the Chase County Community Hospital Board of Trustees. With no further business, Chairman Bernhardt adjourned the meeting at 10:40 a.m.
