Carson council adopts 'Carson Experience' branding, readies volunteer list for 2028 Games

The Carson City Council on March 17 voted to adopt a resolution designating city events, programs and activities connected to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games as the "Carson Experience."
Deputy City Manager Armine Chaparian said the initiative is intended to create a single marketing umbrella for all city programs tied to the 2028 summer games and asked for the council's blessing to begin using the brand in outreach. "Everything that we do between now and then, we will make a reference to that," Chaparian said.
Councilmembers asked staff for an official list of the competitions and events that will take place in Carson and for details on volunteer sign‑ups. Chaparian said LA28 had launched volunteer registration but the city's volunteer portal had not been made public while staff made final adjustments based on LA28 feedback; she said the city would start a local volunteer list in the interim and would share event names and dates with council members.
The council unanimously approved the resolution and authorized the city manager and designee to coordinate development, promotion and implementation of activities under the Carson Experience initiative.
What's next: staff will provide council with an event list and dates, finalize the city volunteer portal and begin stakeholder outreach to community groups and faith organizations for volunteer recruitment.
