Committee grants beverage operator license to Teagan Stadette and assesses 40 demerit points

MARSHFIELD — The Judiciary Licensing Committee voted on March 17 to grant a beverage operator license to applicant Teagan Stadette while assessing a total of 40 demerit points tied to prior convictions.

The committee returned from a closed-session reconsideration hearing and the Chair presented findings of fact noting that Stadette has a conviction for underage possession of alcohol and an additional disorderly conduct conviction that was not listed on the license application. The Chair said the applicant had represented that they had changed their behavior and were committed to complying with the law.

The Chair moved to adopt the findings and to grant the beverage operator license with 15 demerit points for failure to list convictions and 25 demerit points for the alcohol conviction. The motion was seconded and the committee voted in favor; the motion carried.

The closed session was held under the committee's cited statutory authority for deliberating about specific persons and disciplinary data. The Chair cited the Wisconsin open-meetings statute that permits closed deliberations in cases involving personal disciplinary information.

Earlier in the meeting the committee approved the minutes of its March 3, 2026 meeting by voice vote. The Chair asked for items for future agendas and none were offered. A motion by Burrows, seconded by Kuran, adjourned the meeting.

The committee did not record additional conditions on the license in the open session. The applicant was granted the license subject to the demerit points recorded by the committee; the committee did not specify further follow-up in public session.
