CIP Manager Martin Smith described the irrigation improvements (Bid No. 25-226), which include excavation of a 3.3‑million‑gallon effluent pond, piping to connect the pond to the existing pump building and upgrades to reduce water hammer that has caused pressure surges and damage. The Council awarded Bid No. 25-226 to Pronghorn Services, LLC for $701,448.75 on a motion by Councilor Patricia Seybold, seconded by Councilor Robert Foreman; vote 7-0.
Smith also presented the recommended award for the Sports Complex walkway and ADA parking (Bid No. 25-227). Council awarded that contract to Tierra Verde Builders for $609,855.24 on a motion by Councilor Jessie Murdock, seconded by Councilor Patricia Seybold; vote 7-0. Town staff said the walkway and parking work will follow completion of the concession and restroom building and include ADA‑compliant parking stalls and concrete approaches.
Council members asked questions about construction process and timelines; staff indicated standard permitting and sequencing will apply.
