At the April 20 special meeting the board deferred two spending items for further review. Coordinator of Business Development Angela Smith presented a Façade Improvement Program request for a mixed-use building at 100 West Madison St., seeking a $25,000 reduction from the Madison TIF Fund; after discussion Trustee Brandon moved and Trustee Sanchez seconded to table the request until the village attorney provides further guidance. The motion carried with Mayor Perkins voting Nay and other trustees voting Aye.
Separately, the board pulled and tabled payment to Christmas Decor Systems for a three-year holiday decoration lease (2020–2022) in the amount of $17,550 and directed that the Community Engagement Commission review and provide a recommendation on 2021 and 2022 holiday expenses. That motion passed with Mayor Perkins opposed and the remaining trustees in favor.
Both items were recorded as tabled in the meeting minutes; no final approvals or funding disbursements for either item occurred at the April 20 meeting.
