The Apple Valley Unified Board of Trustees recorded the following formal actions on June 12 (roll-call votes unless noted):
- Appointment: Brian Webb was appointed assistant principal, Rio Vista School of Applied Learning (range 7, column 5, certificated management salary schedule), effective July 1, 2025. Motion carried (mover: Maria Okpara; second: Anita Tucker).
- Personnel actions: The board approved certificated and classified personnel actions as listed in the agenda; motion carried unanimously.
- LCAP adoption: The board adopted the 2025—26 Local Control and Accountability Plan; motion carried unanimously.
- Expulsions and disciplinary readouts from closed session: the board approved amended hearing-panel recommendations and administrative-hearing chair recommendations for multiple cases, including (as read out) EXP 272425 (expelled to SBCSS Community School / Victorville Education Center for specified semesters), EXP 292425 (suspended enforcement to High Desert Premier Academy), EXP 30202425 (administrative hearing recommendation approved), and an annual review AR 16202425; the board also approved expungement STIP 4202223.
- Operating budget: The board adopted the district's 2025—26 operating budget; motion carried unanimously.
- Consent agenda: The board approved consent items 1—8, 10, 12—24, and 29—33; trustees pulled and discussed items 9, 11 and 25—28 before approving them individually (item 9: Zena Blosser pilot at Sitting Bull; item 11: Professional Tutors of America compensatory services; items 25—28: updated fee schedules for multiple legal firms). All motions passed by roll call.
All recorded roll-call votes in open session were unanimous (ayes from Trustees Tucker, Longshore, Okpara, Buchanan and remote Trustee Raleigh) on the items voted in public session.
