The City of Danbury Board of Awards met Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, and unanimously approved a series of contract awards and change orders covering fire-department alerting equipment, alarm-system upgrades, engineering services and emergency repairs.
Purchasing agent Pickupi opened the meeting and said the fire department submitted a requisition for an all-band antenna alerting system. "The quoted cost was $13,768.94," Pickupi said, noting the low bid was submitted to the city under the Connecticut contract; Northeastern Communications submitted a higher quote of $17,558.33. The board voted to award the contract to Goose Town Communications, pending the required approvals and ARPA consultant sign-off because the purchase is ARPA-funded.
