Board approves tentative labor agreements with teachers and school employees

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education voted Aug. 27 to approve two tentative collective bargaining agreements reached before the start of the school year: one with the Palos Verdes Faculty Association (PVFA) and another with California School Employees Association (CSEA) chapter 123.
Assistant superintendent Dr. Luchadillo described both agreements as collaborative bargaining efforts that provide negotiated proposals aimed to benefit employees and the district. Board members repeatedly praised the spirit of negotiation and noted the agreements were completed early in the year.
The board voted to approve the tentative PVFA agreement and related budget revisions by motion (vote recorded as 4–0). The board then approved the tentative agreement with CSEA chapter 123 by voice vote (4–0). Board members said the agreements support a positive work environment and allow staff and faculty to focus on students as the year starts.
