Board President Linda Kurt told the board the resignation and said the trustees will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. the same evening to determine the process and timeline for filling the vacancy. Kurt said Hamill’s service will be honored at a future meeting.
The board did not take a final vote on a replacement during the Aug. 27 regular meeting; the special meeting was scheduled to focus on next steps and selection criteria. Members asked the community to watch the district’s livestream for details when the special meeting convenes.
