The Fox River Grove Board on Aug. 19 directed staff to prepare a Business Capital Assistance Program grant agreement in the amount of $15,000 for Lord of Beers, a new taproom and restaurant proposed by owner Nishit Patel.
Administrator Soderholm presented the request; Patel described planned improvements — kitchen and bar equipment, granite countertops, epoxy floors — and said the business hopes to open in mid-September pending inspections. Patel said the venue will offer approximately 30 bottled beers and 15 tap beers and a fusion menu including tacos and Indian dishes.
Trustee Hester moved to recommend staff prepare a $15,000 grant agreement consistent with the program guidelines; Trustee Migdal seconded. Roll call recorded Trustees Hester, Joseph, Knar, Migdal and Wall as voting yes. The motion passed unanimously.
Staff was instructed to prepare the grant agreement and present it for board approval at the next meeting.
