Board affirms expulsions and stipulated agreements following closed session

The Roseville Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees reported votes taken in closed session on May 13 that approved several expulsions and stipulated expulsion agreements.

Before the vote, a parent who identified herself as a resident addressed the board during public comment to urge the trustees not to expel her son. The resident said she had enrolled her student in an online school and objected to the expulsion, asserting the district and a PE teacher had failed to protect the student during incidents in which other students grabbed or restrained him and that documentation in the file did not reflect the student's disability-related needs. She said, "please like don't expel him," and asked the board to review evidence and consider alternatives.
