Staff reports: Moss Side Villas preconstruction, Pelican Point drainage adjustments, ordinance changes announced

Eric Poche, director of planning and development, briefed the Ascension Parish Planning Commission on routine subdivision activity and upcoming ordinance changes at the March 11 meeting.

Poche told commissioners there have been no major changes in the monthly subdivision report but noted pre‑construction work at Moss Side Villas (north of Highway 74). "They had a pre construction meeting, probably about three weeks ago... they're fixing to get started with construction," Poche said, and added that required off‑site drainage and Highway 74 improvements will be completed before the main construction proceeds.

A commissioner asked about Pelican Point (the 77) and possible adjustments to a pond location on a fairway. Poche said an application had been submitted recently to move a pond location because of a conflict with the golf course; the change involves two minor adjustments and will be reviewed through the normal process.

Poche also told commissioners that recommended ordinance changes would be provided to members in advance of the next meeting to allow review before public hearing. "I'll get those to you as early as possible so that you'll have time to review them," he said.
