Beavercreek police chief highlights high citizen satisfaction, presents department awards

Chief Lindsey told Mayor Adams and council that the department’s Power Engage citizen-survey produced a 36% response rate and an overall positive satisfaction score above 96% for 2025. “It’s actually our best survey tool that we’ve ever used,” he said, summarizing the department’s annual awards presentation.
Lindsey listed honors presented at the March 11 annual meeting, including community awards (the Green Optimist and Knights of Columbus recognition), unit awards for the regional WERT team, letters of recognition for specific officers and dispatchers, a department commendation for Officer Katie Gee, an OVI Enforcement Award for 13 arrests, and a newly separated life‑saving award presented to Officer Joseph Desjardins for using an AED to help save an unconscious person’s life.
He described the role of volunteers in the department’s COPP (Citizen On Preventative Patrol) program, noting the 2025 COPP team earned the team‑of‑the‑year recognition with more than 668 volunteer hours combined. Lindsey praised employees and volunteers for “consistent professionalism” and thanked council, the city manager and residents for their support.
Mayor Adams and council members offered brief congratulations, with Adams saying, “They do a great job keeping us all safe,” and the council expressing appreciation for the department’s community engagement.
The awards summary was presented without formal action; council proceeded to the next agenda item.
