Bayonne High School representative reports on leadership conference, fundraiser and homecoming plans

Harneka Argua, the Bayonne High School student representative, updated the board on recent student-government activities and upcoming events.
Argua said student government attended the NJASC Fall Leadership Conference where attendees learned “about empowering ourselves and others and taking action to make a difference in our community.” She also reported a Qdoba fundraiser that donated 25% of sales to student activities and said the recent homecoming dance was well received after tickets were sold online for the first time.
Argua outlined upcoming homecoming-week activities, including a pep rally during the school day, a tailgate in the ice-rink parking lot after school, and a Color Wars spirit day with each grade wearing a different color. The homecoming game theme will be a white-out to promote school spirit.
The student representative’s update was presented during the board’s regular meeting at Woodrow Wilson Community School.
