The Bayonne Board of Education voted to approve the superintendent's and business administrator's routine recommendations during its October meeting at Woodrow Wilson Community School.
The board considered curriculum items A1–A4 and a package of personnel items labeled B1 through B37. The personnel package was approved overall, but the record shows a trustee recusal on item B6 and abstentions recorded for items B7, B8 and B29. President Desmond noted exceptions for items B2, B3 and B9 when casting her votes. Trustees otherwise indicated approval of the superintendent's report.
The business administrator's report, covering items C1–C18, was moved, seconded and approved by the trustees present.
The meeting record contains roll-call-style confirmations for each vote rather than a consolidated numerical tally for every subitem. Where the transcript records recusals or abstentions, the board's minutes reflect those specific exceptions; the board approved the remaining items in both the superintendent and business-administrator packages.
President Desmond also offered brief remarks of appreciation to the host school staff: “Those 2 young ladies that sang and did the pledge were phenomenal,” she said.
The meeting was adjourned after the votes; the presiding officer announced adjournment at approximately 6:12 p.m.
