Resident Jesse Heggie wins approval to upgrade half‑mile of 320th Street

Jesse Heggie, a Page County resident, asked the board to upgrade roughly a half‑mile of 320th Street east of Veil Avenue to a rock or all‑weather surface to improve farm and field access, saying adjoining landowners supported the petition.

"What I've asked for is the road to be upgraded, from L Avenue, commencing in L Avenue and going east about a half a mile to the end of the road," Heggie said, adding two adjoining landowners had signed the petition and that three additional landowners use the road’s end. He told supervisors the existing base likely reduces the amount of new rock needed compared with a full Level B reconstruction.

A supervisor moved to approve the petition and another supervisor seconded the motion. The board voiced its approval and the motion passed; the written acceptance was recorded on the agenda for signature. The petition will allow county crews or contractors to place surfacing material to create more reliable access for agricultural uses and private driveways.

The requeststemmed from a petition signed by adjacent property owners; Heggie said he had visited other landowners in the area and that those not on the petition also agreed the upgrade would be beneficial. The board did not specify a completion date at the meeting.
