Dunn County commissioners voted March 18 to help cover legal fees associated with a management contract between Halliday Ambulance and Killdeer Ambulance.
County officials said Halliday Ambulance has struggled to cover call time; the proposal calls for Halliday to keep its license and taxing district while contracting management services to Killdeer Ambulance. Attorney Adam Parker, who specializes in EMS matters, is assisting with the contract’s legal work. Commissioner Pelton moved to fund county assistance for legal fees; Commissioner Heiser seconded and a roll call showed all voted aye.
The board’s action covers payment of legal fees related to drafting or reviewing the management contract; the contract itself and any subsequent operational changes will be handled through the participating ambulance services and applicable licensing procedures.
