The project involved local vendors and scoutmaster support; Sunelle credited Cupid Brothers and others for supplying materials and noted multiple work sessions from March through June. Mayor Amy Wazinski and council members praised the project’s aesthetics and leadership benefits for participating youth. "You're just an extraordinary young lady," Mayor Wazinski told Sunelle.
Why it matters: The wooden surrounds are intended to improve public spaces such as Crestwood Lake and other town locations, and the project doubled as a leadership and skills-training opportunity for Scouts and volunteers. The council thanked Sunelle, her family, scout leaders and volunteers and encouraged continued community projects that pair youth service and town improvements.
