At its December meeting the Egg Harbor Township Board of Education approved multiple consent items, including finance items, curriculum recommendations and personnel hires.
The board recorded roll‑call votes to approve minutes and later to approve finance consent items. A motion to approve finance items 8.3 through 8.19 passed; board member Mr. Ireland registered an abstention on purchase orders PO 600722 and PO 601272, which he identified during the roll call. Curriculum items 9.2–9.3 and policy first readings were presented and approved as noted in committee reports. Personnel items 11.2–11.9 were approved and the superintendent introduced 12 new hires by name, including a new school counselor, school secretaries, maintenance staff, several power professionals, an armed guard and bus drivers.
The finance committee report (presented by the committee chair) also noted the arrival of one of three new wheelchair buses and preparations for athletic busing. Facilities committee discussion covered bids for a high school pole‑barn project and bid authorizations for bathroom renovations at Sleighbaugh, Swift and Davenport elementary schools.
Votes were recorded by roll call in the transcript; specific tallies (counts of yes/no beyond the noted abstentions) were not printed as numeric totals but the motions passed as recorded in the meeting minutes.
