Residents ask about Planning Board ordinances and affordable-housing settlement tied to Glengarry Quarry

A resident identifying herself as Maria Janucik asked whether ordinances raised at recent Planning Board meetings are decided by the Planning Board or the Hillsborough governing body and was directed to contact the Planning Board for procedural questions. Janucik also raised questions about a settlement between the township and M and M Realty related to affordable housing, noting the Glengarry Quarry parcel and a second parcel (Block 86, Lot 21.02) that she said she believed remained township-owned; she asked how the Glengarry development is proceeding if the different parcels are not owned by the same party.
Officials told the resident that questions about Planning Board actions should be addressed to the Planning Board or the town attorney, and noted that some background will need to be explained outside the public-comment forum. Another resident, John Ciccarelli, later praised the administration’s persistence in pursuing the Merdinger recreation proposal that secured federal funding.
