Shaw also presented the Fire Station #26 site plan: an 18,885-square-foot facility on 3.31 acres in M-1 zoning with two access drives from 25th Street NW. Resident Vern Willey asked where the fire department's training and amenities would be located in the future; council approved the site plan subject to staff-identified deficiencies.
Both approvals were recorded by roll call vote as unanimous. Council did not provide final construction schedules or contract awards during the meeting; next steps include satisfying staff comments before building permits and construction procurement proceed.
