GROSSE POINTE FARMS — Council members voted March 9 to extend the city’s auditing contract with Plante Moran PLLC for three years.
Finance staff described the extension as a continuity decision, citing the firm’s existing familiarity with the city and the auditing team’s responsiveness to council questions. In staff remarks the projected hourly rate at the end of the three-year extension was cited as approximately $160 per hour; staff compared that to an industry-standard rate cited in the packet of about $200 per hour.
Council members who spoke in favor said the firm’s staff has been professional and easy to work with. The motion carried on a voice vote.
