Staff also discussed coordination with MDOT and SEMCOG to secure funding and approvals for a stretch of Lakeshore Road; staff and council members stressed the urgency of temporary fixes for potholes if full reconstruction cannot be completed in 2026.
Council members asked staff for the pavement-rating analysis used to prioritize work and requested maps and multi-year projections showing how the program affects long-term road condition. Staff said they would provide the requested rating and projection materials.
The motion to award the contract was made by Councilman Ritchie and supported by Councilman Jensen; the voice vote carried with ayes recorded.
