Canton staff recommend Yellowstone as lowest bidder for right-of-way maintenance

Public works staff presented results from a request for proposals for right-of-way maintenance across major city corridors and recommended the lowest bidder, Yellowstone.
Miss Penley told council the RFP returned three bids and the lowest bid from Yellowstone—who previously performed the work—came in at $69,000 with optional-area pricing. The contract would run biweekly from April 6 through Nov. 1 and include provisions to perform extra work around major events before holidays. Penley said the contract includes litter pickup reporting and an option to extend for an additional year at the same price if the contractor performs satisfactorily.
Council members asked whether the city could perform the work in-house; Penley said contracting is more cost-effective than hiring additional public-works staff. The council will consider the contract award and any optional areas at its April 2 meeting.
