Brenda, who conducted the roll call, said the council would meet in closed session on two items: "We have 2 items on closed session. 1, pertains to the pending sale of the stadium, and the second is, city attorney performance review," she said. During roll call Brenda reported Councilor Evans as absent but said Evans had messaged that she would be running late and would join the meeting in closed session.
After briefly opening public comment at 10:02 a.m., the council closed the public portion and moved into closed session. Mayor Reyes queried whether the closed session would begin in about an hour and Brenda confirmed that timing. A voice "Aye" was recorded on the motion to enter closed session.
The meeting record shows the agenda was approved and that the council shifted to closed session to discuss the two items announced; no formal public deliberations or votes on those closed-session topics were taken in the public portion of this meeting.
