Commissioners ratified the county’s initial collective bargaining agreement with the Morrow County Sheriff’s Sergeants Association and approved a separate, one‑time $1,500 ratification bonus for each sergeant.
County staff said the agreement was negotiated to align with the Teamsters agreement and had been ratified by the association. The board moved and authorized signature of the contract to allow union and county signatures to be completed and to implement the agreement. Commissioners also approved processing the ratification bonus on a separate check outside the standard payroll process.
The county’s human resources and finance staff said the contract runs through June 30, 2027, and that the ratification process would proceed immediately once signatures are exchanged.
Next steps: Staff will execute contract signatures and process the ratification bonus in accordance with payroll and finance procedures.
