Martin Stanzic identified himself and asked procedural questions about layoffs and appeals, asking whether the board is involved in cuts, when reductions typically occur, whether employees can appeal and whether cuts must be publicly disclosed. Superintendent Dr. Hunt offered to respond by email and said he had previously explained the process at a community conversation and in related materials.
Audra Oswald thanked the board and administrators for visiting Ridgebrook Elementary School, saying the visit and the engagement with staff and students “meant a great deal” and reinforced appreciation for district work.
Tanya Caravanis sought to raise a concern about an effort to remove a sitting board member; the presiding officer redirected her to the appropriate forum and told her the issue belonged on the agenda for a special meeting. The chair issued a first redirection and said speakers must focus on board business on that night’s agenda.
Dennis Vasco spoke in support of the district, applauding board efforts and veteran support and urging the community to back the schools despite negative outside voices. The board indicated it would follow up where appropriate and the superintendent offered to share procedural information by email.
