The Sacramento City Council’s presiding chair called a special meeting at 4:02 p.m. and said the body would move into a closed session to consider a performance evaluation and a potential appointment for the acting director of OPSA and to confer with labor negotiators. “I called to order a special meeting for the purpose of a closed session,” the chair said.
The chair told the council there were three items on the agenda and that no members of the public were present to speak. Item 1 was listed as a public employee performance evaluation under Government Code section 54957(b)(1) for the acting director of OPSA; Item 2 was a public employee appointment under the same statutory provision for the acting director of OPSA. Item 3 was a conference with labor negotiators under Government Code section 54957.6, with Mayor Kevin McCarty named as the agency’s designated representative and the acting director of OPSA listed as the unrepresented employee. “You may adjourn to closed session. We’ll adjourn to closed session,” the chair said; the council recessed to closed session at 4:03 p.m.
No votes or public deliberations on the record were taken before the council moved into closed session.
