The Albia City Council on July 17 approved a plan to clean and televise sewer lines using ARPA funds and conditionally approved change order #10 for the ongoing sewer project pending approval by USDA Rural Development.
Nancy Buss updated the council on work completed at project sites and presented change order #10 for the sewer project. Buss recommended the city not sign the change order until USDA Rural Development has approved it. After discussion, Councilor Dennis Conley moved and Councilor Scott Kelly seconded to approve change order #10 if recommended by USDA Rural Development; the motion carried 6–0.
Councilors also reviewed a plan to clean and televise sewer lines and approved it as an ARPA-funded project. Conley moved and Chris Yarkosky seconded the motion; it passed unanimously, 6–0. The council did not record a dollar amount for the ARPA project in the meeting minutes.
The change order remains contingent on USDA Rural Development review; Council members said they would not sign the paperwork until the agency’s recommendation arrives. Council staff will return with the formal change-order paperwork and any USDA correspondence before final execution.
