Little League seeks repairs; council directs town manager to coordinate fixes with DPW and rec director

Warren Little League representatives told the council the Upper Rec and Lower Rec baseball fields have deteriorated into safety problems and asked the town for help preparing fields for the season.
Little League president Sean Coelho described overgrown infields, displaced and tilted home plate, missing base inserts and general degradation that affects the organization’s ability to teach ground‑ball fundamentals and safe sliding techniques. Coelho said the league represents roughly 45–50 families and sought a short‑term fix to allow practice and safe play while longer‑term solutions are developed.
Council members agreed the fields require remediation, noted past volunteer partnerships that restored other town fields and moved to instruct the town manager to coordinate with the DPW director, the recreation director and Little League to develop a feasible scope and cost estimate. The motion passed by voice vote.
