Kristen Reed described plans to identify co‑captains for each neighborhood event, provide organizers with $250 mini‑grants, guidance, and accessibility supports, and coordinate street closures with the town.
Council members asked staff to route details through the police chief, fire chief and DPW for safety and logistics. The council voted to officially sanction the block‑party plan “as described,” contingent on public‑safety sign‑offs, enabling the committee to move forward with street closures and the town to provide materials for blocking streets.
The committee said it will also use localized outreach (canvassing and co‑captain networks) and the historicwarren.org contact form to recruit volunteers and ensure broad neighborhood coverage.
