Milton council approves multiple ordinances and budget resolutions on first reading; consent agenda cleared

Ordinances on first reading: The council approved Ordinance 14-25 (amending subsection f of section 3.2 of Article 3 concerning the Community Improvement Board), Ordinance 15-25 (revising subsection j of section 3.2 of Article 3 concerning the Board of Adjustment), Ordinance 16-25 (revising Division 2 of Article 5, Chapter 2, pertaining to the Planning Board), and Ordinance 17-25 (revising a subsection related to the Historic Preservation Board). Each ordinance was presented by staff (the city attorney spoke the ordinance text) and each motion carried unanimously on first reading.
Budget and resolutions: The council approved Resolution 2025-27 amending fiscal year 2025 estimated revenues and expenditures and Resolution 2025-28 amending the fiscal 2026 budget; both were unanimously approved.
Consent agenda: The council approved a general consent package that included the 2026 meeting calendar; the 2025 holiday calendar and holiday bonus; the annual Christmas luncheon; a business improvement grant for Mama Lattes; multiple special events permits (MLK Day Parade, Mardi Gras-related events, Milton Marathon, poker run, turkey trot and other races); a task order for the Lachlan Botec lift station; the FDEP second amended consent order; and two residential facade improvement grant requests (5198 Santa Rosa Street and 6810 Berry Street).
