Yocom said he attended multiple county presentations and that the consultant reported roughly "about 1,500 or 1,800 people responded" to the public survey. He questioned the makeup of respondents and the weighting of topics, saying traffic concerns appeared to be given little prominence in the published results. "They made the whole presentation, did a survey, and then they said there's about 1,500 or 1,800 people responded," Yocom said.
Yocom urged the board to be aware of limits on local authority when the county and state set policy, and he said citizen groups are forming to press state representatives on the issue. He told the board members they should expect constituent emails and inquiries on these topics.
The board thanked Yocom for his comments; no formal action or referral was recorded during the meeting.
