Elizabeth Charland named Curriculum Committee chair; committee approves French exchange program

The Cedarburg School District Curriculum Committee appointed Elizabeth Charland as its chair and unanimously approved forwarding a French American Exchange Program to the full school board, during a meeting on June 4, 2025.

Laura Stroebel, a Curriculum Committee member, moved to nominate Elizabeth Charland as Committee Chair; Dr. Nick Silvaggi seconded the motion, and the committee voted 3-0 to appoint Charland. Later in the meeting, Stroebel moved to approve the French American Exchange Program, which specifies travel in March 2026, and to forward the program proposal to the full Board for approval; Dr. Silvaggi seconded and the motion passed 3-0.

The actions taken were procedural approvals by the three-member Curriculum Committee and do not by themselves authorize student travel; the program must be approved by the full Cedarburg School District Board before any travel arrangements proceed. The minutes record no dissenting votes or conditions attached to the motions.
