The Government Affairs Committee unanimously recommended that the Common Council approve a new Class B beer and Class B liquor license for Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub, a change prompted by an ownership transfer to JSMKL Inc. City licensing staff told the committee the previous license-holder, Blue Ribbon Pub LLC, surrendered its license and an application from JSMKL Inc was submitted for the licensing period ending June 30, 2026.
Staff said background checks on the agent and organization showed no violations substantially related to licensing activities, and a departmental review raised no issues. "Therefore, I recommend the council grant a new class b beer and class b liquor license to J S M K L Inc for the Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub establishment for the period ending 06/30/2026," licensing staff said.
Alder Phillips moved approval; the committee seconded the motion and voted in the affirmative. The recommendation will be forwarded to the Common Council for final action at its Feb. 24 meeting.
The committee took no public comment on the license application at the committee meeting.
