"We would actually like to amend this to be a trial of no parking from Hawthorne to, I guess we could say, the boundary between 1169 and 177, North 85th Street," the engineering staff said, adding that medians and a hydrant already restrict parking in portions of the corridor.
Staff acknowledged a few residents preferred the east side restriction to allow driveway backing room; the recommendation to limit west‑side parking was based on available off‑street stalls on the west side and a need to preserve emergency access. The committee moved and approved the trial as amended; the clerk recorded the vote as eight‑zero in favor.
