Suffield board honors technology director for new STEAM lab; students report regional wins

The Suffield Board of Education on Nov. 3 recognized Director of Technology Rebecca Osleger for her leadership in developing the Suffield High School STEAM Lab and presented her with a plaque.
Superintendent Matt Dunbar said Osleger “spearheaded” many projects and served as project manager for the lab renovation, thanking the Board of Education, Board of Finance, Board of Selectmen and ACCE for their support. Rebecca Osleger said she was “grateful to work for both the town and the school district” and thanked everyone for their support.
Student Representative Lucy McCoy (Class of 2027) updated the Board on school events: preschool fire-safety visits at A. Ward Spaulding School, a McAlister Intermediate School walking field trip to Kent Memorial Library, middle-school Boo Bash and spirit week, a high-school fall concert, a Model UN conference hosted by Suffield High School, a successful homecoming dance and the National Honor Society Trunk or Treat. McCoy and teammates were among the students the superintendent congratulated for winning the Harvard Crimson Quiz Bowl for Government and Politics.
The Board noted Veterans Day assemblies planned for Nov. 11 and congratulated Ms. Osleger and the Music Department on recent performances. The meeting moved on to agenda business after the recognition.
